These terms cover plasticdetox.org, the Plastic Detox iOS app and the Product Check browser extension. Using any of them means you accept these terms. What we collect, and what we do with it, is in the privacy policy.
What a Verdict Is
Plastic Detox publishes editorial verdicts on whether a product puts plastic or its chemistry into you. Each one is built from published lab results, recall records, court filings and the maker's own ingredient and material disclosures, read through a written standard. A verdict is our reading of that evidence on the date shown. It is not medical advice, it is not a laboratory result of our own, and it is not a guarantee about any product. Products change after we rate them, and we correct a verdict when the evidence moves.
The Database
The verdicts, scorecards, product rows, evidence notes and the structure that holds them are a database we own and maintain. You may read it through the site, the app and the extension for your own personal, non commercial use, and you may share a link to any page. You may not copy, scrape, crawl, download in bulk, mirror, republish, resell or build a derived dataset or product from it, by hand or by automation, without our written permission. Automated access that works around the limits we set is not permitted. Write to hello@plasticdetox.org if you want to license it.
What You Send Us
When you send a product to be checked, request a brand, report a problem or write to us, you give us permission to use what you sent to research, correct and publish verdicts. We do not publish your name or your email address.
Purchases
Check packs and the kids room are sold through Stripe on the site and through the App Store in the app. A purchase is for your own use and cannot be transferred. If something about a purchase is wrong, write to hello@plasticdetox.org from the email address you bought with and we will sort it out.
Affiliate Links
Some product links earn us a commission, at no cost to you. Commission never decides a verdict. The standard is the same for a product we earn on and one we do not, and nothing rated careful or skip is sold through our store.
No Warranty
The site, the app and the extension are provided as they are. We work to keep every verdict current and correct, and we publish corrections when we find errors, but we do not warrant that a verdict is complete or that a product has not changed since we looked. To the extent the law allows, Plastic Detox is not liable for any loss that comes from relying on a verdict. Nothing here limits the rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when. Using the site, the app or the extension after a change means you accept it.
